Art with Amanda – watercolours

Times: Tuesday 1pm – 4pm

Instructor: Amanda

Amanda is a senior watercolour teacher at various art schools, community centres and galleries around Sydney. She had her first solo exhibition in South Africa in 1986 after a year-long stint beachfront in Mauritius. More travel and exhibitions in Vancouver Canada and Pt Vila Vanuatu and finally last year at Duck Rabbit Gallery Redfern in Sydney. Her hobbies include rooftop gardening, orchestrating more art classes and painting en pleinair and all the while walking with her four-legged best friend.

Watercolours. Afternoons from 1pm is an invaluable engagement with a teacher who takes students of watercolour into new territory and visual effects.

Art with Harry – watercolours

Times: Tuesday 10am – 12pm

Instructor: Harry

Harry is an architect by profession, and a teacher in Architecture for the last 25 years of his working life. He has a Bachelor of Architecture degree and a Diploma of Education.  Harry studied watercolour rendering technique at University under the well-known artists Miss T Nimo and Mr. John Olsen.

Watercolour techniques are included each week be it a landscape, still life or any other selection. Paper and materials are supplied.

Art with Pat – drawing

Times: Thursday 1pm – 3pm

Instructor: Pat

Pat has been drawing, painting, designing and teaching for many years in many countries. She holds degrees in fine art and design from California College of the Arts and COFA (UNSWAD) as well as various technical certificates from the US, Germany, New Zealand and Australia. Her training and practice encompass a wide range of disciplines and media.

From 1pm is a precious opportunity to learn from a tutor with wide international experience and qualifications. Pat focuses on helping artists of all levels of experience to explore and develop their skills to make the art they want, and to pursue the joy and satisfaction of art making. She teaches drawing, life drawing, painting and environmental art.

Art with Teresa – oils/mixed media

Times: Wednesday 9.30sm – 2.30pm

Painting in oils and watercolours.

Teresa worked with Dept. of Education (NSW) for 32 years as an Art Teacher, Head Teacher of Visual and Performing Arts and as Deputy Principal. She has taught Art, Photography and Ceramics to high school students, and Ceramics to adults through Parramatta Evening College. She has taught workshops in painting to adults and currently teaches painting to Seniors at Little Bay.

Teresa has been a practising professional artist during the last 33 years, exhibiting in group shows, and also exhibiting in individual exhibitions under ‘Castellanos and Young’. She has primarily exhibited in the Blue Mountains at Shipley Galleries and Braemar Galleries. In the 1990’s she ran a co-operative gallery (Gallery43) with 6 other artists in Leura; curating numerous exhibi-tions and exhibiting her work on a continuous basis.

She currently works in various 2D and 3D art mediums to produce work. These include painting, mixed media, printing and works in ceramics.

Drama Workshops with Jon

Times: Monday 1.30pm – 3.30pm

Instructor: Jon Ossher (Drama Director and Actor). Jon is known as a director for the TV show Home and Away. He has also worked as a Director of Photography, Editor, Executive Producer, Producer, Writer and has a background in acting.

DRAMA WORKSHOPS With Jon. If you have ever had an interest in acting or becoming an actor yourself but have never done anything about it, then why not come along to this unintimidating, fun class in our beautiful Cottage Hall. You won’t get such professional tutoring at such a low price anywhere else! Some of things covered in the drama workshop are:

  • Read and discuss plays, scripts and poetry.
  • Do acting exercises and improvisations.
  • Discuss film, theatre and television, with a focus on actor performance.
  • Do physical and vocal warmup exercises.
  • Research and develop dramatic characters.
  • Learn how to tell stories, and how to engage an audience.
  • Share experiences and have fun.
